Singapore To Host First Asian Superyacht Show

Sentosa Cove will play host to the launch of highly exclusive Singapore Yacht Show scheduled for 8 to 10 April 2011, with an international audience of ultra high net worth individuals and member of the luxury industry expected to be in attendance.

Organised by Informa Yacht Group, who are also responsible for the likes of the Monaco Yacht Show and the Superyacht Cup Regattas, among others, the event will showcase a range of sailing and motor Superyachts at the ONE15 Marina Club at the resort.

Informa is bringing the show to Singapore because of its growing reputation as a first class hub for the superyacht industry in the Asian region.

"We are convinced that the market for superyachts in Asia could develop considerably over the next few  years and we want to play our part in that development. The venue has the ideal setting to host this ultra-luxurious event," Andy Treadwell, managing director of Informa, said in a statement.

The agreement to launch the first Asian yacht show in the city-state was signed early this year between Treadwell and SUTL Chairman Arthur Tay.

"By playing host to such an event, involving the global industry's key decision makers, the Singapore Yacht Show will create history on many levels for Singapore," Tay noted.

Along with the main yachting event is a showcase of both local and regional exhibitors, as well as key international players keen to find a new market in the newly-affluent East and to tap Asia's growing market for high-end luxury products.
