SG Private Banking Gives Itself a Branding Makeover

One of the largest French wealth management houses, SG Private Banking, has rebranded itself as Société Générale Private Banking, to emphasise the importance that the Paris-listed bank is giving to this business division.

"The new brand enables the private bank to reaffirm its identity as part of Société Générale Group and to leverage further on the group’s multi-service banking model," the bank said.

The private bank will use the Societe Generale Private Banking brand worldwide, except for SG Hambros Bank Limited, which will provide its services under the name Sociéte Générale Private Banking Hambros in the UK, Gibraltar, Guernsey and Jersey, and except for Bahrain and Canada, where its services will be offered under the Sociéte Générale Wealth Management brand.

The wealth management business oversaw €74.5 billion of assets under management at the end of September 2009 and employs 2,800 staff in 22 countries.
