French headquartered AXA Investment Managers has appointed Gregory Venizelos as senior credit strategist.

French headquartered AXA Investment Managers has appointed Gregory Venizelos as senior credit strategist.

He joins the company's research and investment strategy team from the BNP Paribas Fixed Income division. Based in London, he will cover investment grade and high yield credit and sub sovereign assets.

The team is led by Eric Chaney, head of research at AXA IM and chief economist at AXA Group.

"With inflation low and interest rate rises looking ever more likely, the ongoing tug of war between rising credit yields and low default rates requires vigilant monitoring. Gregory’s depth of expertise will strengthen the team’s coverage of credit markets, providing fund managers with support and rounded insights for making informed investment decisions on behalf of clients," said Chaney.

This appointment follows that of David Page back in July. Page also joined as a senior economist and is responsible for macro-economic and thematic research, as well as market strategy and asset allocation, the firm said in a statement.
