The bank is restructuring some of its HR and related functions.

ABN AMRO, the Netherlands-headquartered bank, has announced that one of its senior executive committee figures is stepping down on 1 August this year.

Gert-Jan Meppelink is responsible for human resources, transformation and communications at the bank. He will leave his post by "mutual agreement" after the bank decided to regroup the HTC operations.

In future, the HTC group of functions will focus more strongly on HR, which will continue to be a responsibility of the executive committee.

The bank intends to bring the brand, marketing and communications department under the direct responsibility of the CEO.

Meppelink will stay on as an advisor until 31 December this year and leave the lender on 1 July 2020 in order to comply with the contractual six-month period of notice.
