Schroders Personal Wealth Appoints New Chief Technology Officer

The latest moves and appointments at London-based Schroders Personal Wealth.
This week, Schroders
Personal Wealth appointed Graham Bastin as chief technology
officer to drive the firm’s digital and technology strategy
and underpin the firm’s growth ambitions.
Bastin has over 30 years’ experience in the technology industry,
mostly leading digital transformation within financial services,
the firm said in a statement.
He will be joining from Barclays Bank plc, where he served in several managing director roles within group technology. He also established a modern technology centre, which is at the forefront for digital, cloud and cyber technologies globally for the firm, Schroders added.
As chief information officer for UK Retail Banking he led a
customer-centric shift towards the mobile and digital proposition
for customers, clients and colleagues.
He will join Schroders Personal Wealth in November, reporting
directly to Mark Duckworth, chief executive officer.
Welcoming him to the firm, Duckworth said: “We believe his vast
experience and skillset will be invaluable to our clients and the
business as we continue with our ambition of growing the company
to become one of the biggest financial planning businesses in the
UK.”
“He will play a fundamental part in not only delivering, but
improving our advice proposition, and making sure we continue to
achieve our goals,” Duckworth continued.
Schroders Personal Wealth is a joint venture between Lloyds
Banking Group and Schroders, two UK names in banking and asset
management, aiming to help more people across the UK benefit from
financial advice.
