Schroders Names New Co-Head Of Equities

The appointment takes place alongside broader public markets-focused investment promotions.
Global investment manager Schroders has appointed Alex Tedder (pictured) as co-head of equities.
Tedder will lead the equities business alongside Rory Bateman, while Mark Lacey has been appointed head of thematic equities and Simon Webber has been promoted to head of global equities.
Tedder, who has over 25 years’ experience investing in global equity markets, will oversee the global, quantitative and developed market investment desks while the Asian and emerging markets investment teams will continue to report into Bateman.
In this new role, Tedder will also retain his portfolio management responsibilities, the firm said in a statement.
Thematic investing
Lacey, who has nearly three decades of experience investing in
global energy markets, will steer the teams investing in five
pivotal areas: climate change, natural capital management,
technological innovation, demographics, and societal change.
These areas represent key trends that are shaping our world and
the future of investing.
He will also continue his current portfolio management responsibilities, the firm added.
Global equities
Webber, a global investor, will provide both investment and
leadership, leveraging his extensive experience as part of his
expanded role, the firm said.
Webber, who joined Schroders in 1999, has built expertise across a range of global markets and sectors spanning technology, industrials, utilities, autos, telecoms, and consumer discretionary. Notably, he has led Schroders’ global climate change strategy since its inception in 2007 and he will continue with his current portfolio management responsibilities.
Headquartered in London, Schroders is a global investment management firm with £750.6 billion ($956.9 billion) assets under management.
