Schroders Makes Marketing Hire From BlackRock, Appoints Digital Leadership

The London-headquartered asset management company has made two senior appointments within its marketing team.

Schroders has appointed Courtney Waterman as head of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Peter Beckett as head of content and digital.

Waterman joins from BlackRock, where she was head of EMEA institutional marketing. She has over 20 years’ experience in marketing for asset management companies, having also worked at Janus Capital International and Fidelity International.

Beckett has worked at Schroders for eight years as head of UK and international marketing. He has over 15 years of marketing experience. He will be responsible for digital marketing, marketing services and investment communications.

In their newly-created roles, the pair will be based in London and report to James Cardew, Schroders' global head of marketing.

“We’re delighted to announce these two appointments within Schroders’ marketing team. As a global business, the development of cross-border marketing strategy is of vital importance to the success of the firm and digital is becoming an increasingly important component,” said Cardew.

“Courtney brings with her unrivalled experience and expertise in delivering international campaigns and Peter’s new role reflects client demand for high quality content through digital channels.”

Schroders had £313.5 billion ($462.1 billion) under management as of the end of 2015.
