Sarasin & Partners Adds To Board

The London-based asset management firm has added a former IMF executive to its ranks.

Sarasin & Partners has appointed Gary Steinberg to its board as non-executive director.

Steinberg, who brings more than 35 years of investment management experience, served as chief of the investment unit of the International Monetary Fund from 2010 to 2015. His previous positions include chief investment officer of medical charity Wellcome Trust and chief executive of BP’s pension scheme. He also spent eight years as chair of the investment committee of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Charity, as well as serving on the investment committees of the University of Cambridge Endowment and The Kings Fund.

“Gary joins us with a long history of close working relationships with governors, boards and trustees at the highest level. In keeping with our ongoing commitment to exceptional client service, we look forward to drawing on Gary’s deep knowledge of our industry and meaningful understanding of client needs,” said Guy Monson, CIO of Sarasin & Partners.

As of the end of March 2016, Sarasin managed £13.4 billion ($19.6 billion) of assets on behalf of charities, institutions, intermediaries, pension funds and private clients, from the UK and overseas.
