Sanlam Global Investment Solutions, part of South Africa’s Sanlam Group, has named John Croft as head of the UK and Europe for its Bermuda-based investment firm P2International.

Croft was latterly a sales director at Co-operative Asset Management. In his prior career he worked for M&G, Deutsche Asset Management and HSBC Global Asset Managers.

Sanlam bought P2International in May this year with the intention of gaining an extra global distribution partner for its asset management and insurance products. P2, which was founded in 2009, operates across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Last month Sanlam Private Wealth, a UK arm of South Africa’s Sanlam Group, netted an additional £77 million ($123 million) in assets with a trio of acquisitions – its second IFA hat-trick of the year.
