Sanlam Securities UK, the corporate finance and broking
arm of Sanlam Private
Investments, has appointed Adrian Kearsey as head of small
cap research as part of the firm's wider expansion plan.
Kearsey's role will involve expanding and developing small cap
research and he will also lead the existing team which currently
focuses primarily on the technology, consumer and leisure, oil
and gas and mining and minerals sectors, the firm said in a
statement.
He joins from Hardman Research, where he was a research analyst
specialising in the support services sector and a member of the
executive board. Before this, he spent over 10 years at Evolution
Securities, where he was a director and deputy head of
research.
He has also worked as a research analyst at Quilter (now Quilter
Cheviot), Mercury Asset Management and JM Finn.
“The expansion of the discretionary and wealth management part of
our business is well under way, but we also have growth plans
for Sanlam Securities UK, as it complements perfectly
our existing businesses and provides great synergies within the
larger group. The expansion of its sales and research capability
is the first step in a much wider strategy which is focused on
growing our corporate client base in terms both of client numbers
and market cap,” Craig Massey, chief executive
of Sanlam Private Investments.
This publication recently spoke to Massey about Sanlam's
expansion in the UK. For more on this story, click here.
