Ruffer, the London-based absolute return investment manager, has appointed David Ballance as an investment director to oversee and manage new client portfolios. Mr Balance was most recently head of international equities at Rothschild Private Management, where he managed a number of private client portfolios and was a member of the group responsible for asset allocation.
