RSM Tenon Promotes Two To Tax Director

RSM Tenon, the Slough-headquartered accountancy and business advisory firm, has promoted Mike Tuhme and Karen McGrory to the level of director within its tax service line.

Tuhme has been with RSM Tenon since 1999, specialising in corporate and transaction tax. Now to be based in the firm’s Leicester office, he is charged with building out the East Midlands tax practice through both new product and business development. He will also be involved in RSM Tenon’s transactional tax advisory practice at a national level.

McGrory’s expertise is focused on international assignment policy development and processes, complex cross-border tax and social security planning, advising on cross-border employer compliance requirements and remuneration planning and structuring.  In her new role as a tax director McGrory will head the firm’s new national employer solutions unit out of London, along with her fellow director, Duncan Groves.

“We aim to promote key people within our tax advisory team to ensure it is well managed and drives our quality of service. Both Karen and Mike have a wealth of experience and will certainly make a significant contribution in the London and the East Midlands regions respectively,” Andrew Hubbard, RSM Tenon’s national tax policy director, said in a statement.

In other recent developments, at the start of this month the firm announced its acquisition of a number of operations from its rival Vantis, including three advisory offices, in a deal which will add some three hundred staff to RSM Tenon’s roster.

In addition to the advisory offices in London, Epsom, and Leicester, the firm also acquired Vantis’ national financial management operations and the Thames Valley recovery office. The deal was valued at total cash consideration of approximately £7 million (around $10.5 million) and RSM Tenon has said that the acquisition could add up an estimated £27 million to its annual fee income.
