Rothschild Poaches Senior Credit Suisse Manager to Lead Guernsey Trust Business

Rothschild Private Banking and Trust said it has appointed Trevor Kelham as managing director of its trust business in Guernsey, joining the company from Credit Suisse Trust.
WealthBriefing has learned that Mr Kelham has been appointed to the role after Martin Pollock, whom Rothschild announced in May would be taking up the post after running Rothschild's Bermuda office, has decided to leave the firm. In May, Rothschild said there would be a realignment of the management team in Guernsey. Chris Ward, one of the-then co-heads of the business, took on a new role with responsibility for key clients while remaining on the local management committee. Luis Gonzales, the other co-head, left Rothschild.
In its statement today, Rothschild said Mr Kelham worked for more than ten years with Credit Suisse Trust in Guernsey. A qualified lawyer, his most recent role was as trust management market head, covering Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Mr Kelham was previously director of legal, compliance and risk Management for Credit Suisse, having been appointed to the Guernsey board in 1999.
Rothschild said the appointment supports its drive to build administrative "centres of excellence" in Switzerland, Singapore and the Channel Islands. Mr Kelham will have day-to-day responsibility for running Rothschild’s Guernsey Trust business as well as overall responsibility for operational efficiency and ensuring exceptional client service, reporting to David McLellan, group chief executive, Rothschild Trust.“ Guernsey continues to be an important jurisdiction for our business,” said Mr McLellan. “We are delighted to have recruited a new Managing Director of Trevor’s calibre for Rothschild Trust in Guernsey. Trevor’s longstanding experience in business management and development and legal and compliance background, combined with his local and international knowledge and contacts ensure that he is well placed to support the growth of our business here,” he said.
Rothschild Trust has eight offices around the world, with the exact choice of location depending on individual client’s circumstances and preferences.
