Rothschild & Co Names VC For North American Global Advisory Arm

The new appointee has worked for almost four decades in restructuring and mergers and acquisitions.
Paris-based Rothschild &
Co has appointed Jay Goffman to its global advisory business
in North America as vice chairman, reporting to Jimmy Neissa, who
is head of the firm’s North America business.
Goffman will advise clients across global advisory’s
restructuring, debt and merger and acquisition practices. He has
joined from the global law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher &
Flom, and will be based in New York.
“Jay is a global authority on restructuring and he is
consistently recognized for his leadership in the industry. He is
an innovative dealmaker and his experience and expertise will
provide immense value to our clients as we continue to grow our
business in North America,” Neissa said.
Prior to joining Rothschild & Co, Goffman was the global co-head
of Skadden’s corporate restructuring group; he has more than 36
years of experience in restructuring and M&A.
