Rothschild & Co Names New Wealth Management Head

London-headquartered Rothschild & Co makes senior appointment, replacing Mark Wallace.
Rothschild & Co has appointed Ilga Haubert (pictured) to lead its UK wealth management investment team. As head of investment, she will oversee the firm’s investment strategy and the delivery of its investment proposition for clients.
Haubert will report to UK Wealth Management CEO, James Morrell, and become a member of the UK Wealth Management Committee, in addition to holding senior managers and certification regime (SMCR) responsibilities for the investment team.
She brings more than 20 years of investment experience spanning research, portfolio management and senior oversight of global investment teams. Most recently, she served as head of equities at Fidelity, where she led the firm’s European-based portfolio management team and contributed to the development of its global equity capability.
The head of investments role was previously filled by Mark Wallace, one of the co-heads of UK portfolio management. Wallace will now focus on his portfolio management responsibilities full time as the firm’s discretionary investment offering and assets under management continue to grow.
“As we continue to invest in our business, appointing a dedicated head of investments was one of our key priorities for 2026. I am delighted that we have appointed someone of Ilga’s calibre and deep experience. I look forward to working with her as we continue to enhance our investment capability, always focused on our core objective to preserve and grow our clients’ real wealth over time.”
Haubert is the first senior appointment made by James Morrell since becoming CEO of the UK wealth management business, effective January 2026. He succeeded Helen Watson, who is now chair, after a decade-long tenure as CEO and working with Morrell for over 20 years.
