RBC WM Names New Chief Commercial Officer To Drive Europe Strategy

RBC Wealth Management has made a series of appointments, including chief commercial officer, as part of its growth plans.

Along with a number of other appointments, RBC Wealth Management has appointed William Hepburne-Scott (pictured) to the newly-created role of chief commercial officer. He will be responsible for leading the firm’s European Wealth Management commercial strategy, helping to drive growth while ensuring that the organisation’s commercial activity is aligned with its client propositions, regulatory obligations and long-term strategic objectives, the firm said in a statement.

Previoiusly, Hepburne-Scott was managing director, head of the southern region, a position he has held since 2023. He joined the firm's London office in 1996 as an investment manager, developing client relationships, and has spent three decades with the business.

The creation of the chief commercial officer role comes at an important moment for the business as it continues its growth plans across the UK, Jersey and the Republic of Ireland. It also reflects RBC Wealth Management’s commitment to developing the leadership, expertise and talent needed to support the evolving needs of its clients, the firm added.

Lucie Gordon, managing director for the northern region, will be retiring at the end of December 2026. Gordon joined RBC Brewin Dolphin in 2014 and was appointed managing director for the Northern Region in 2023. Throughout her tenure, she has been central to building high-performing teams and delivering strong outcomes for clients across the region.

As RBC Wealth Management's business continues to expand across the UK, the regional centre heads – Rod Walley (North), Robin Mellows (Central, the South West and Wales) and Kevin Jennings (London and the South East) – will take on expanded roles as regional managing directors. They will be supported by regional leads and heads of offices across RBC Wealth Management’s network of more than 30 offices, and will report to Nicholas Oliver, managing director, head of RBC Brewin Dolphin.

“William’s appointment is an important step in the continued evolution of our business and a clear signal of our ambition to drive sustainable, organic growth,” Hal Catherwood, managing director of RBC Wealth Management, said.

“As Lucie prepares to retire at the end of this year, I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank her for her significant contribution over the past 12 years and wish her well for her retirement,” Catherwood added.

The Strategic Hiring Programme is focused on recruiting new client-facing roles and is part of RBC Wealth Management’s growth strategy. Adrian Moran has joined the RBC Brewin Dolphin team in Dublin to help individuals, families and business owners protect their income while growing their wealth and planning for the future.

Rowena Kenny has joined the RBC Brewin Dolphin team in Dublin as an investment manager. Jonathon Crisp has joined the RBC Brewin Dolphin team in London as an intermediaries investment manager, working with advisors whose clients require discretionary investment management services.

Darren Watkins, who has joined RBC Brewin Dolphin as a director in the Bristol office, brings experience of working with private clients, families, entrepreneurs, and business owners to help them achieve their long-term financial goals.

Amrit Sihota has re-joined RBC Brewin Dolphin as a director in the London office, after beginning her career in private banking with the firm. Sihota, who has more than 17 years of wealth management expertise, has specialised in financial planning for high net worth individuals and families since 2016. Previously, she worked at Union Bancaire Privée (UK) with private banking teams.
