RBC Wealth Management Makes A Trio Of Senior Hires In London

RBC Wealth Management has boosted its London-based investments team with a trio of senior hires, including that of George King as head of portfolio strategy and head of investment consulting.

King joins the firm from Barclays Wealth, where he had been a director within the investment advisory team. In his prior career he held roles at Credit Suisse First Boston, Conseco Capital Management and Alliance Bernstein.

Second among the new hires is that of Josef Portelli, who has been named head of discretionary fixed income portfolios. Portelli was formerly a fixed income portfolio manager at ACPI Investment Managers running multi-currency fixed income fund and bespoke portfolios.

Lastly is Pedro Ferreira, who joins as a senior investment advisor. He was previously an investment advisor within the private banking unit of Banco Comercial Português and before this was a private banker serving Portuguese clients at Millennium bcp Private Bankers.

In their new roles all three appointees report to Tracy Maeter, head of investments at RBC Wealth Management.

In another recent London-based hire, earlier this month RBC Wealth Management recruited Sandy Swinton - latterly of Barclays Wealth - to serve UK-domiciled clients.

Swinton, who is now a director within RBC’s Wealth Management UK division, had up to the summer of this year been a senior private banking director and a member of Barclays Wealth’s UK private banking group. During his ten-year stint at the firm he also headed the professionals client segment and was a director at Barclays Private Bank.
