Rathbones Further Expands Charities Team

Rathbone Brothers, the UK wealth and investment manager, has hired James Codrington as an investment director within its London-based charities team.

Codrington joins from Baring Asset Management, where he was in charge of charity operations. He has previously worked on charities, pension funds and private client investment management at Teather & Greenwood Investment Management, Deutsche Asset Management and Lazard Brothers & Co.

Rathbones said in a statement that it has £1.7 billion ($2.65 billion) of funds under management for about 800 charities, and that it is looking to continue growing its charity offering.

The firm added James Brennan, also from Barings, as an investment director to the charities team in July.

Across the group, Rathbones managed £16.36 billion in funds at the end of June.
