UK-based wealth manager Rathbone Investment Management is launching a “Jersey expert fund” designed for professional and institutional investors; it will be multi-manager across two different strategies: an A share offering cash plus 2 per cent, and a B share offering inflation plus 5 per cent. It will be led by David Coombs, who joined Rathbone Investment Management from Baring Asset Management in April 2007 as investment director. The firm said that although the fund will only be available to the group’s discretionary investment services clients, it may be marketed to retail investors later.
