Quintet Private Bank Names New Chairman

Having served in chairmanship roles at several major financial institutions, such as Deutsche Bank, Eurex Group and Lombard Odier, the Swiss national is now chair of the Luxembourg-headquartered group of private banks.

Private Bank, a European group, has appointed former Deutsche Bank and
Lombard Odier
senior figure Hugo Bänziger as its new chairman.
Bänziger is succeeding Rory Tapner, who served as chair from
2020 until the end of 2024. He was also a former chairman of
the Eurex Group.
Bänziger began his career at the Swiss Federal Banking
Commission, then served for more than 10 years at Credit Suisse
in London and Zurich. A Swiss national, he served as governor of
the London School of Economics and was a visiting professor at
the Lee Kwan Yew Institute for Public Policy in Singapore and the
University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He holds a degree
in modern history and constitutional law from the University of
Berne, where he earned his doctoral degree.
Bänziger has spent many years contributing to global causes, including being a longtime member of the Assembly (board) of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva.
Founded in 1949, Quintet operates in the UK and other parts of
Europe. Among its businesses is Brown Shipley, the UK private
bank.
