QIC Bulks Up In Sydney With Key Hire, Newly-Created Senior Roles

QIC, the Australian investment management firm, has hired a former AMP executive to lead an entire division at its Sydney office.
Brian Delaney, previously the business director of clients, products and marketing at AMP Capital, takes up a similar role at QIC as chief. QIC has A$64.7 billion in funds under management.
In this new role, Delaney reports directly to Damien Frawley, chief executive of QIC. He officially takes up office in 15 October 2012 and will be based in Sydney.
Along with the hire, QIC announced the creation of a new chief operating officer role, which will be filled by Paul Leitch, the current managing director, human resources and corporate communications head. The firm also created a chief risk officer position, which will be assumed by David Clarke, currently the managing director for organisational risk, legal and tax.
