Prudential Hong Kong Appoints Chief Agency Officer

The Prudential Assurance Company, the UK financial services firm, has bolstered its Hong Kong office with the appointment of Joseph To as chief agency officer effective 1 January.

Joseph To joined the agency development team of Prudential Hong Kong in 2010 from Freeman Financial Services where he served as executive vice president. In this new role, he leads the agency sales channel and oversees a team of more than 5,300 financial consultants and support teams, including agency development, training and operations. 

He reports directly to Derek Yung, chief executive of Prudential Hong Kong. He is also a member of the executive committee.

Prudential has been operating in Hong Kong since 1964 and has grown to have around 6,000 financial consultants in the area. It provides a range of financial services and products include individual life, general insurance, employee benefits, investment linked products and wealth management products. The local branch has a strategic partnership with Standard Chartered Bank and Citibank, as well as a joint venture with Bank of China International to provide Hong Kong clients a range of financial services products.
