Private Client Boutique Splits To Focus On UK Trust Market

New Quadrant Partners is passing over its non-trust advisory business to Harbottle & Lewis so that it can focus on UK trust, fiduciary and family office services.

In what could be a busy season for mergers and businesses realigning as partners take stock, private wealth law firm New Quadrant Partners is splitting business lines to focus on UK trust, fiduciary and family office services. The restructure, based on growth planning, will see Louise Stoten stay on as head of New Quadrant's trust business and fellow co-founder Zoë Camp move non-trust advisory work to Harbottle & Lewis to strengthen their private wealth offering, taking senior associate Alexa Collis and the UK/US team with her.

The move was effective from 12 October and follows a year of partner consultations and external guidance about the best way to grow what has developed into two distinct practices, the firm said.

“For ten years we have enjoyed two key and successful revenue streams but now it makes sense to separate these two parts to allow greater opportunity for growth and success,” Stoten said. She added that the changes would provide New Quadrant with the right balance and focus to stand out in the UK domestic trust market.

Taking the advisory business to Harbottle, Camp said: "We have spent the last year getting to know the team and have been greatly impressed by Harbottle’s collaborative culture and proactive and innovative approach, all of which will be hugely beneficial to our clients and our continued success.” The UK law firm is best known for its work across the private client, technology, media and entertainment sectors.
