The second edition of the Edhec business school's Alpha League Table for France suggests that private banks and wealth managers have achieved superior overall results. Stability has been a feature, with 17 of the top 25 from the first issue in 2006 holding on to a position in that elite group. Top was Oddo Asset Management, followed by HSBC Private Bank France, which has climbed 15 places since last year. Also in the top ten are wealth management specialists Banque Martin Maurel (third), Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management and Palatine Asset Management. The successful larger groups were to be found lower down: BNP Paribas Asset Management, IXIS Asset Management and Natexis Asset Management were all in the bottom ten.
