PNC's private-client unit upgrades reporting tech

Pittsburgh bank's wealth division goes from First Rate Snapshot to Advisor. PNC Wealth Management has upgraded to First Rate's Advisor performance reporting and analysis tool. PNC WM had been using First Rate's Snapshot.

"Our clients are the biggest [beneficiary] of First Rate Advisor because they see the end result: boardroom quality reports," says Rick Manning, PNC WM's manager of performance measurement.

Batches

The upgrade gives PNC WM advisors the ability to create real-time reports based on criteria such as time periods, asset classes and benchmark indices.

First Rate's Advisor support for batch reporting -- which lets users select groups of accounts and reports and order them concurrently rather than requesting each one separately -- was especially attractive to PNC WM, according to Arlington, Texas-based First Rate.

Tom Bohner, PNC WM's head of investment products, says the bump up to First Rate Advisor "provides us with a complete reporting solution that will allow us to better communicate results to clients and save time to focus director of investment on our core business of managing investments and relationships."
