Planning firm tailors financial program to widows

Kirsch & Associates' founder delves into her own past to develop service. Bedford, Texas-based financial-planning firm Kirsch & Associates has launched a new financial-planning program for widows called From Grief to Growth.

"We believe that there is an inherent connection between a widow's financial and emotional recovery," says Kirsch & Associates founder Joy Kirsch. "The goal of the 'life-wealth' process for widows is to offer a helping hand so widows can open their hearts and minds to the hope of a bright future."

Personal experience

Kirsch, who was widowed at 30, knows the grief, fear, and uncertainty of making important financial decisions following the death of a spouse.

The Grief to Growth program is meant to help widows make decisions about financial matters that arise from the death of a spouse, such as probate, wills and trusts, and negotiating with insurance agencies and governmental institutions, and to help them "develop a lifetime financial plan," according to a Kirsch & Associates press release.

In addition to its Bedford headquarters, Kirsch & Associates has offices in Dallas and in Fort Worth, Texas. -FWR
