Pictet Appoints New Partner

Geneva-headquartered Pictet has announced Laurent Ramsey will join its partnership.
Swiss private banking group Pictet has appointed the deputy chief executive of its asset management arm, Laurent Ramsey, as partner.
Ramsey has been with Pictet for over 20 years, during which time he has held various roles, including chief executive of Pictet Funds and head of all institutional distribution and marketing activities.
He will officially become partner on 1 January 2016 and will retain his role as deputy chief executive of Pictet Asset Management, working alongside the division's chief executive, Renaud de Planta, who is also a group partner.
In another shuffle to the partnership, Jean-François Demole will step down from his role as partner as of the end of August.
During his 24-year career at Pictet, Demole built the group's presence in asset services and set up advisory services to family offices in 1998. He will continue to work with Pictet as a board member of Banque Pictet & Cie and of Pictet Alternative Advisors.
As of the end of 2014, Pictet had £280 billion ($433 billion) in assets under management and custody globally.
