Perpetual Investments Adds Analyst To Equities Team

Perpetual Investments, the Sydney-based wealth advisor, has strengthened its equities team with the hire of a veteran portfolio manager as analyst.

Anthony Aboud, former portfolio manager of Ellerston Capital's global equity management fund, takes up his new role in late February. He brings to Perpetual extensive experience in running long/short equity portfolios for Ellerston's Australia clients. He had also previously served as lead analyst at UBS Investment Bank.

In his new capacity, Aboud will be working closely with Paul Skamvougeras, a former colleague at Ellerston, in growing the company's Share Plus Long Short Fund. They will also be responsible for developing a new range of absolute return equity products, as the firm moves to meet high net worth clients' growing demand for opportunistic investments.

Perpetual Investments has been working to expand its private wealth advisory offerings to cater to the market's evolving investment taste. In October last year, the company outsourced its platform administration services for private wealth clients to Macquarie Investment Management so it can focus on developing more products and pursuing new opportunities for growth.
