Park Sterling Bank has appointed David Parker as president of its eastern North Carolina operations.
Parker brings 30 years of financial services experience, most of which were spent at Wachovia Corporation, where he most recently served as eastern region executive, based in Wilmington. He has also functioned as upstate regional executive in South Carolina.
In his new role, he will be responsible for the bank's operations in Wilmington and "the Research Triangle", along with developing further opportunities for the company in the eastern area. Park Sterling offers banking and wealth management services across the Carolinas and Virginia.
Park Sterling Bank added 18 new branches to its network following the November acquisition of CapitalBank by its parent firm Park Sterling Corporation. The firm currently has around $1.1 billion in total assets.
