Jensen Investment Management, the Oregon-based asset manager, has appointed Monte Mitchell as director of sales.

Mitchell most recently served as a financial advisor consultant at Charles Schwab; he was a senior relationship manager at Morley Financial Services before that. In his new role, he will focus on service to financial advisor clients in the western US, as well as on relationships in the defined contribution channel across the country. 

Jensen specializes in mutual funds and its flagship offering is the Jensen Quality Growth Fund, designed for both institutional and and private clients. The firm had around $5 billion in total assets under management as of September 2011.
