Oppenheimer Expands US Sales Team

Oppenheimer & Co has added three new members to its institutional sales team.
Bryan Welch, John Edelman, and Fredrik Martenson have joined as executive directors in the equities group. They all report directly to Charles Holmes, managing director, head of equities.
Prior to the hire, Welch was with DA Davidson & Co and has also worked for the likes of JP Morgan Chase and Jefferies. He joins the Boston branch. Edelman, who will be part of the New York office, was previously the lead sales person at Kaufman Bros in New York. Finally, Martenson, who will be working with the Scandinavian office but based in New York, comes from DnB NOR ASA, where he was a portfolio manager. He will also be liasing closely with Jon Todman of the company's office in the Netherlands.
Oppenheimer is a principal subsidiary of Oppenheimer Holdings and provides wealth management, securities brokerage, and investment banking services to high net worth clients and institutions.
