Online Platform Launched To Simplify Investing

A new online social media platform called meetinvest has been launched which aims to remove the barriers to investing and complicated jargon retail investors often face.

A new online social media platform called meetinvest has been launched in the UK which aims to remove the barriers to investing and complicated jargon retail investors often face.

meetinvest said in a statement that the platform takes investment strategies of some of the world’s most recognised investment gurus, including Buffett, Graham, O’Neil and Templeton, and identifies the stocks that match their strategy’s criteria by “distilling them into simplified language”.

As part of this process, the platform tracks 68,000 stocks daily, screening 128 countries and 238 exchanges worldwide.

The platform also acts like a “financial Facebook”, allowing like-minded people to connect and exchange ideas about investing, including on 800 bespoke investment topics such as stocks, real estate, art, wine and classic cars.

“I first thought of the idea for meetinvest when I looked into investing my own money in stocks and shares, but was faced by a wall of financial jargon and complexity. meetinvest helps educate retail investors about the investment process and gives them the tools to invest like a professional,” said Maria Labrador chief executive and co-founder.

Research commissioned by meetinvest and undertaken by YouGov shows that 45 per cent of adults in the UK find the stock market and information available to them as “confusing”. The same survey also revealed that 39 per cent of adults in the UK would be more likely to invest in the stock market if they had access to free and easy to understand information.

meetinvest was co-founded by Michel Jacquemai who has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry and journalist Maria Labrador.
