OMAM Loses Sales, Marketing Director

Old Mutual Asset Managers, the London-based subsidiary of Old Mutual, has confirmed that Simon Wilson is leaving his post as sales and marketing director after eight years at the firm.

A spokesperson has confirmed to WealthBriefing that Wilson joined Old Mutual in 2004 from Govett Investments, where he also led the firm’s marketing operations. The specific reasons for his departure at OMAM are unclear at this stage and details of his next role have yet to emerge.

Old Mutual is currently in the process of melding its UK asset management businesses, Old Mutual Asset Managers UK, and Skandia Investment Group, into a single business - a move the group has said it hopes will sharply increase its market profile and attract talent and new clients.

In May, Celeste Dias and Steven Brown were appointed as head of product development and head of advisory distribution for the new business respectively. Moreover, at the end of June, Warren Tonkinson was brought in as global head of distribution.
