Old Mutual Wealth Subsidiary Makes UK Hire

The firm, which is owned by Old Mutual Wealth, has added to its UK team.

Quilter Cheviot has appointed Jonathan Buttress as regional development manager for East Anglia in a bid to strengthen its business development team.

Buttress joined the investment manager earlier this month from Liverpool Victoria, where he spent more than five years working as a retirement consultant.

Prior to that, he worked in business development roles at Connaught Asset Management and Verbatim Asset Management.

In his new role, Buttress is tasked with hitting new business targets, and developing new relationships while maintaining existing relationships with financial advisors and other professional entities.

He reports to Andrew McGlone, managing director of Quilter Cheviot's London operations.

Buttress' appointment follows the promotion of David Butler to strategic accounts director.

“We are delighted to welcome Jonathan to Quilter Cheviot,” said McGlone. “He brings with him vast experience and a solid understanding of the financial services industry, making him a great fit for our London business development team. I have no doubt that his knowledge and expertise will further strengthen the team and enable us to continue to deliver an excellent service to our introducers and clients.”
