Offshore Law Firm Boosts BVI Team

Offshore law firm Maples and Calder has strengthened its British Virgin Islands team with the appointment of commercial barrister Jo Cunningham and trusts specialist Lorraine Bartlett as associates. Ms Cunningham joins the litigation team from Quadrant Chambers in London, where she has experience advising on complex matters including international trade, insurance, banking and company disputes. She was called to the Bar as a Major and Duke of Edinburgh Scholar of the Inner Temple in 2000. Ms Bartlett returns to BVI after working as in-house counsel for a prominent European family office and has expertise in BVI trust law and the use of trusts in commercial and corporate transactions. She was admitted to the Bar in England in 1998 and in BVI in 2000. Maples and Calder has one of the largest teams of BVI qualified lawyers with 45 lawyers across its offices worldwide admitted to practice BVI law.
