Odey Asset Management Adds To Equity Team

This publication brings latest news of appointments in global wealth management.
Odey Asset Management, the London-based firm running traditional
and hedge fund investments, has appointed Dipankar Shewaram to
its equity research team, working alongside Tim Bond, who manages
the Odey Odyssey Fund. The fund is a Cayman Islands-registered
vehicle.
Previously, Shewaram worked at BlueBay Asset Management and then
Western Asset Management, Odey said in
a statement.
A report by Bloomberg gave more information about
Shewaram’s previous career, stating that he is the co-founder of
Goldbridge Capital Partners, a credit and distressed debt
investor, and that his co-founder was former BlueBay Asset
Management fund manager Gina Germano. They set up the
firm in 2011 with financial backing from Northill Capital.
Shewaram left Goldbridge in 2014 and the firm shut down last
year. Germano joined Hayfin Capital Management in 2015.
Shewaram’s role is a newly-created one, this publication can
confirm.
“I have known Crispin and Tim for over a decade and have great
respect for them as investors and for the return seeking culture
at Odey. Loose monetary policy has created valuation distortions
in all asset classes which will lead to good opportunities for
our clients,” Shewaram said.
