NY Alternative Manager Hires Former UBS Director

Pardus Capital, the New York-based alternative investment manager, has appointed former UBS director Ali Mostafavee as head of portfolio risk, The Wall Street Journal reports.

At UBS, Mostafavee was director of prime brokerage risk; prior to joining UBS he was director of risk analysis at Tribeca Global Capital Management.

In his new role, Mostafavee will oversee Pardus’ risk exposure and hedging activities across its global event-driven investment portfolios. He will also join the firm’s investment committee and support research efforts into due diligence, according to the report.

"As we evaluate investment opportunities throughout Europe, Ali's expertise will be critical given the inherent volatility associated with sovereign debt concerns and the uncertainty of corporate and broader economic recovery," president and chief investment officer Karim Samii reportedly said.
