NorthStar rolls out next-version advisor desktop

Technology firm out with new iteration of wealth-management-practice portal. Wealth-management platform integrator NorthStar Systems International has launched NorthStar 5.0, the latest edition of its advisor desktop. It's supposed to streamline workflows and help advisors do a better job of managing their clients and investment products.

NorthStar 5.0 comes as installed software or as an ASP and as a whole suite or in functionality pieces, depending on what the firm wants.
San Francisco-based Northstar mainly targets banks, trust companies, broker-dealers, money managers and family offices. Among its clients are Schwab, Legg Mason, Merrill Lynch, Wachovia Securities, BlackRock and several large banks. -FWR
