Northern Trust Names Client Services Head for Asia ex-Japan

Northern Trust, the global asset manager, has appointed Fifi Ting as the head of sales and client service for its asset management unit Northern Trust Global Investments in the Asia-Pacific ex Japan region.

Ms Ting was previously the head of client relations as the Asia-Pacific and Middle East arm of AIG Investments and has about 15 years of experience under her belt.

She will be joining a team of over 20 investment professionals in the region and will be responsible for building the company's capabilities to large, sophisticated institutional investors, including central banks, sovereign wealth funds, government entities, and national pension funds.

"Our strategy is to continue to grow in Asia-Pacific by pursuing opportunities commensurate with our strengths in areas such as indexing, manager of managers, active fixed income, and other products that align us with our target audience of the region's largest and most sophisticated investors," said Kevin Hardy, the senior vice president and regional executive for NTGI Asia Pacific, in a statement.

Northern Trust has a total of $3.2 trillion in assets under custody from clients all over the world. In Asia, it has offices in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and China.
