Nomura IWM Names North Asia Chief Investment Officer

The CIO for the region previously worked at HSBC and JP Morgan.
Yesterday, Nomura said that its international wealth management
arm has appointed Julia Wang – formerly of JP Morgan and HSBC –
as its North Asia chief investment officer. This is a new
position for Nomura, the Japanese firm said in a statement.
As part of her role, Wang will work with product specialists,
research teams and wealth managers to provide investment
insights, market perspectives and portfolio strategies for the
North Asia region. She will also be a member of Nomura’s
investment products and advisory solutions team.
Wang brings more than 10 years’ experience as global market
strategist and economist for Greater China at JP Morgan and HSBC
respectively.
Wang holds an MSc from University College London and a BA (Hons)
in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University,
UK.
As reported here in August,
Nomura International Wealth Management appointed Jessica Ng
as an executive director and head of business management for
Investment Products & Advisory Solutions (IPAS), and Francis Liu
as a managing director to lead business development and strategic
initiatives for Greater China. In late July, Nomura
appointed Harish Hemandas as managing director and senior
executive officer and head of coverage for the Middle East and
Europe. IWM has also made three other senior appointments in the
first quarter of 2025: Ong Kin Yok as managing director and team
head; Sudhir Nemali as managing director and COO of IWM; and
Germane Wee as managing director and team head.
