Nikko Asset Management Names International Chief Investment Officer

Nikko Asset Management has named Yu-Ming Wang as international chief investment officer, a role in which he will oversee all the firm’s investment teams outside of its home market of Japan.
Wang was latterly head of fixed income for Asia at Manulife Asset Management (Hong Kong). His appointment continues a run of recent senior hires made by Nikko Asset Management as part of its expansion plans. Wang is charged with developing the firm’s international investment capabilities while also working on new strategies in areas like Asian alternative fixed income and bank loans.
Meanwhile, Hiroki Tsujimura, currently head of active investments at Nikko Asset Management, has been promoted to the post of chief investment officer for Japan. He first joined Nikko Asset Management at the end of 2004 as global head of alternative investments and chief investment officer of Nikko Asset Management Americas, in the firm’s New York office.
Both appointments are effective from 7 January next year.
