Nikko AM Appoints CIOs For International, Tokyo

Nikko Asset Management, the Japan-headquartered investment firm, has appointed new senior members to its management team.

Yu-Ming Wang was named chief investment officer, international, while Hiroki Tsujimura as CIO for Japan.

Wang joins the firm from Manulife Asset Management, where he was head of fixed income for Asia. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the company's investment capabilities in the region and developing strategies in new areas, such as bank loans and Asian alternative fixed income.

Tsujimura is currently the head of active investments at Nikko Asset Management. In his new post, he will be overseeing all investment management activities in the Tokyo branch.

The appointments come amid a series of hires as the firm continues to expand its presence both in Asia and worldwide. In 2011, Nikko AM acquired Tyndall Asset Management to broaden its Asian scope. Early this year, the company brought in Aoifinn Devitt as head of the world series fund platform in its bid to expand in Europe and Asia.
