Newton Names New Chief Executive

The new CEO is filling the slot left vacant after his predecessor held the post on an interim basis amid a number of moves at the business.
Newton
Investment Management, which is part of BNY Mellon Investment
Management, has appointed Euan Munro as its chief executive
officer.
The appointment is subject to UK regulatory approval. Munro will
join Newton on 23 June and report to Hanneke Smits, CEO of BNY
Mellon Investment Management.
Andrew Downs will continue as Newton’s interim CEO until Munro
joins the company and receives approval from the Financial
Conduct Authority. After this, Downs will resume his role as
chief operating officer. Downs took on the interim CEO slot when
Hanneke Smits began her transition to CEO of BNY Mellon
Investment Management.
Munro, whose investment career spans three decades, was most
recently CEO of Aviva Investors and a member of the global
executive committee for seven years. Prior to this, he was head
of global multi-asset and fixed interest investing at Standard
Life Investments.
