New York Firm Seeks To Open Up World Of Real Estate To Accredited Investors

New York-based Acquire Real Estate has launched a crowd investing platform to open up commercial real estate investment opportunities to accredited investors.

New York-based Acquire Real Estate has launched a crowd investing platform to open up commercial real estate investment opportunities to accredited investors.

“The Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act has recently made it easier for accredited investors to gain access to private investments through general solicitation,” Acquire said. “While a number of real estate crowdfunding sites have seized opportunities under the JOBS Act to reach these investors, they have largely relied on basic technology to enter the marketplace.” Click here for an interview on the JOBS Act and hedge fund world.

Acquire said it screens for the highest-quality investments and then pre-funds each deal to ensure that its interests are aligned with those of investors.

Steven Bettinger, chief executive of Acquire, said the firm believes it is “riding a change in the industry” to place the flow of capital into the hands of accredited investors who “previously had no direct exposure to quality commercial real estate.”
