New Offshore Structure, New Jersey Head At Kleinwort Benson

A new framework for its offshore businesses has been put in place by UK private bank Kleinwort Benson. The move reflects an extended offshore presence across Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man as well as a wholly-owned subsidiary in Cape Town following the acquisition of Close Offshore Group in 2011.

The firm has named veteran staffer Sean Baudin to head its Jersey operation. He joined Kleinwort Benson as a trust officer in 1989 and was appointed to the board of Kleinwort Benson (Jersey) Trustees in 1998.

In addition to his role as senior officer of the Jersey operation, Baudin will continue as director and head of fiduciary services across the firm, including both its offshore and onshore trust services.

Within the new management structure Baudin will report to Mark Bright, managing director of offshore businesses. Also reporting to Bright are head of banking and credit Patrick Goddard, head of fund administration Adam Moorshead, head of custodian trustee Mark Symons, head of Kleinwort Benson in the Isle of Man Lesley Corlett  and the proposed head of offshore distribution partners Clive Wright.

The structure is intended, the firm said in a statement, to support its service to clients who are building businesses at every stage of the wealth creation cycle: from the early stages, to growth capital and M&A advice, through to IPO and subsequent wealth management and wealth structuring.
