New CEO Of True Potential Wealth Management Named

The incoming CEO of True Potential Wealth Management, a firm managing more than £34 billion ($44 billion), has a track record of increasing sustained growth and leading transformation – in fact, an "ideal leader" the firm said.
The True Potential Group has appointed Stuart Dodson (pictured) as chief executive officer of True Potential Wealth Management, effective January.
Based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, he will be taking over from Jamie Sexton who has been acting as ad interim CEO following Steve Hutton's departure in July. Sexton will continue in his role as chief client officer for True Potential Wealth Management, the firm said in a statement.
As CEO, Dodson will lead the development and delivery of the wealth management strategy – driving sustained growth, delivering the right outcomes for clients and embracing True Potential’s entrepreneurial, digital-first approach.
Dodson brings over 25 years’ experience in regulated financial services. Most recently he served as group managing director at Openwork, overseeing distribution across wealth, mortgage and protection channels, and managing over 4,700 financial advisors.
Prior to this, as managing director of Newcastle Financial Advisers, he reshaped the business’s advisor culture, built operational infrastructure and delivered sustained revenue and profitable growth for nearly a decade, the firm continued. He has also held senior leadership positions at Legal & General, where he led financial advice teams across a range of distribution models, and at the Financial Services Authority [now the FCA], where he was involved in financial education and consumer confidence in the regulated financial advice market.
"With a proven record in driving sustained growth, leading transformation and keeping clients at the centre of every decision, Stuart is the ideal leader for True Potential Wealth Management and an excellent addition to the True Potential Group executive committee," Gerry Mallon, CEO of True Potential, said.
