Charles Barnick is to be new chief executive of London-based hedge fund of fund managers Coronation. As well as assuming responsibility for the day to day running of the business, Mr Barnick will focus on global business development for institutional clients and advisors. Coronation Fund Managers has $10 billion under management globally, with $1.2 billion in hedge fund of funds products in London. In March 2005 the Coronation Global Equity Alternative Strategy Fund was awarded best global equity fund by HedgeInvest. The previous chief executive, Andre du Plessis becomes chairman of Coronation Fund Managers in Ireland. Mr Barnick told WealthBriefing, “I Believe that Coronation is well positioned to serve demand from institutional investors. We will also continue to work with organisations who have access to private wealth.” He added: “Coronation is attracting increasing institutional interest based on its clear investment philosophy, consistent risk-adjusted returns and specialist sector approach.”
