New Asset Management Brand Launched

Ignis Asset Management has been unveiled as the new brand for an established UK asset management business that currently manages approximately £70 billion ($105 billion) of assets for UK and overseas investors.
The firm now launched as Ignis Asset Management draws on the capabilities of Resolution Asset Management, a multi-boutique investment company, and Axial Investment Management, an asset liability and alternatives specialist.
Resolution, which was founded in 2004, has adopted the Ignis brand and will continue to provide investment propositions through eight proprietary teams, each of which operates with the autonomy of a boutique.
Axial will initially operate under its own brand, developing products for the intermediary market to be distributed by a single Ignis sales and marketing function.
The business’ four joint venture boutiques (Argonaut, Cartesian, Hexam and Maia) will all retain their separate identities alongside the Ignis Asset Management brand.
Ignis is to continue operating a multi-boutique structure as it aims to continue its international expansion. The firm has already made inroads in the markets of Europe, the Far East and North America.
Gavin Stewart, formerly chief executive of Resolution Asset Management, stays on as chief executive of Ignis.
Mr Stewart said: “The launch of Ignis Asset Management represents the start of a new and exciting future for the business as we look to build on our proven skills to create a leading provider of investment management services both here in the UK and abroad.”
