Neuberger Berman Names Head of Asia ex-Japan

US money manager Neuberger Berman has named Tony Edwards as its new head of Asia Pacific (ex Japan).

Mr Edwards was previously a senior portfolio manager for AllianceBernstein in Hong Kong. He replaces Brad Okita, who has been appointed to a senior, client-focused role.

Chairman and chief executive officer George Walker said in a statement that the appointment complements the company's expansion strategy in the fast-growing Asian region. "Having world class professionals in place is critical as we work to deepen our relationships with the most sophisticated investors globally," he said.

Neuberger Berman is one of the largest private, independent employee-controlled asset management companies in the world, with around $158 billion in assets as of 30 June.
