Name Change for Rothschild in Guernsey

NM Rothschild & Sons (CI) is changing its name to Rothschild Bank International. The new name comes into effect from 1 October 2007. Peter Rose, managing director, explained: “When we opened in 1967, the company was a subsidiary of the London bank NM Rothschild & Sons, so the name was logical for the business at that time. But much has changed, not least that our business has become primarily focused on banking, and the other services we originally supplied, trust and investment management, are now carried out separately within the Rothschild Group in Guernsey. Also, we are now a direct subsidiary of the group holding company. We decided our new name should tell customers that we are a bank, and that we do business internationally.”
